This 12 day trip to Peru starts with a short stay in Lima and then focuses on the Machu Pichu region with excursions to Sacred Valley, Machu Pichu and the high altitude trek to Rainbow mountains. Basic physical fitness is required for the trek to Rainbow mountains. This is a weeklong trip includes a stay at the Sanctuary hotel inside Machu Pichu which is a great experience once the thousands of day trippers have left the place. Cautionary note on Rainbow mountain: It is at a high altitude of 16,000 ft and the almost 10kms walk at this high altitude will need you to be really fit to make this hike. The hike to Rainbow Mountain will usually take around 2 hours (on this route) depending on your speed and level of physical fitness. The trail itself is mostly flat until the final ascent, but the high altitude is what makes it challenging. To acclimate, it’s best to spend a few days in Cusco or other high-altitude locations before attempting to hike to the Rainbow Mountain in Perú. You should make sure you have the right gear for hiking. This includes sturdy hiking boots, a warm jacket, gloves, hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen, rain jacket or poncho. Also a day backpack with water and nutrients. Please consult a doctor to check if you suffer from high BP, heart or lung ailments and if it’s safe for you to make this hike. If you feel this may be a bit arduous for you, you can skip this tour and eliminate one night stay or use it to relax in Cusco.

Namibia is a vast country, even by African standards, covering an area approximately twice the size of California and four times the size of the United Kingdom, but with a population of a mere 2 million. This gives one of the lowest population densities in the world. It is also an ‘ageless land’; visible through our heritage of rock art created by stone-age artists and geological attractions such as the petrified forest where fossilised tree trunks have lain for over 280 million years. When added to the space and silence, these factors all contribute to a feeling of antiquity, solitude and wilderness.
The climate is typical of a semi-desert country. Days are warm to hot, and nights are generally cool. Temperatures are modified by the high plateau in the interior and by the cold Benguela Current that runs along the Atlantic coastline.
Except for the first few months of the year, the country is generally dry with very little rain. This Namibia wanderers Safari affords you the chance to experience this magnificent and memorable country in a very personal way. You will have your own professional and experienced safari guide who will enhance your enjoyment of this unique country by making it a fascinating and stress-free journey of discovery amidst very dramatic scenery. However, some of our guests want to get even further out into the wilderness, to immerse themselves in the sights, sounds and smells of the bush. For these adventurers, we offer dedicated walking safaris. Walking through the bush is a completely different experience to driving. All your senses are alert. Every sound, every movement – the flap of a bird’s wing, a tail swishing through the tall grass – acquires significance. This is where an expert guide really comes into his own. Not only will he (or she!) point out wildlife and birdlife to you, he will also teach you to hone and sharpen your senses and to spot the clues that lie around you in the bush. As one of our guests said after walking for five days along the Mupamadzi River, it is like reading an engrossing book, compared to watching a film!
