ITINERARY SCHEDULE

1 :- Departure from Cuiabá Airport to the Amazon

Begin your adventure by departing from Cuiabá Airport, embarking on a scenic journey to the Amazon, approximately 290 kilometers away. The drive along a well-maintained federal highway will take around 4.5 hours, offering glimpses of Brazil’s diverse landscapes along the way. Upon arrival in the afternoon, you will be warmly welcomed with a refreshing drink at the Jardim d’Amazonia EcoLodge, your home for the night. After a smooth check-in process, settle into your comfortable accommodations and savor a delicious dinner. Relax and unwind, immersing yourself in the tranquil ambiance of the Amazon rainforest as you prepare for the adventures ahead. Enjoy a restful night in this serene setting, ready to explore the wonders of the Amazon in the days to come. (D)

2 :- Exploring the Transition from Savanna to Amazon Rainforest

After a hearty breakfast, embark on a guided trek through the trails that mark the transition from the savannah to the Amazon rainforest. This trek offers a fascinating introduction to the region’s diverse flora and fauna, as well as an insightful glimpse into the history of the rubber extraction industry, which once thrived here and significantly impacted the local economy. Following the trek, enjoy a delicious fish barbecue and take some time to relax in a hammock, soaking in the serene surroundings. In the afternoon, we’ll head out for a canoeing adventure on the Claro River, exploring the tranquil waters of Anaconda Lake. As you paddle through the solitude of the jungle, keep an eye out for the vibrant wildlife, including royal ducks, long-tailed tyrants, cormorants, Amazon kingfishers, green and rufous kingfishers, tangara swallows, and herons. After a day filled with exploration and discovery, return to the EcoLodge for dinner and another restful night amidst the natural beauty of the Amazon. (B, L, D)

 

 

3 :- Journey to Chapada dos Guimarães

After breakfast, we’ll depart for Chapada dos Guimarães, a journey that will take you through breathtaking landscapes. Along the way, marvel at the impressive rock formations sculpted by the wind over millions of years, creating a stunning and otherworldly panorama perfect for observation and photography. By the end of the day, we’ll arrive at the charming , where you’ll check in and settle into your accommodations. Enjoy a delightful dinner and spend the night surrounded by the natural beauty and tranquility of Chapada dos Guimarães. (B, D)

 

 

4 :- Exploring Chapada dos Guimarães National Park

Dedicate this day to exploring the enchanting trails of Chapada dos Guimarães National Park. Hike through a landscape where wind and rain have sculpted intriguing shapes in the sandstone, all covered with rich Cerrado vegetation. The melodies of local birds and the sight of crystal-clear waterfalls will enhance your experience, bringing a rare sense of peace and joy. The highlight of the hike is the 86-meter-high Véu de Noiva waterfall, where we will enjoy a traditional meal at a local restaurant overlooking a vast canyon. In the late afternoon, take a light hike to witness the sunset from the 850-meter-high São Geronimo Peak, located right in front of the Lodge. Return for dinner and overnight accommodation at the Lodge, ending a day filled with natural wonders and serene beauty. (B, L, D)

5 :- Journey to Pantanal and Araras Eco Lodge

After breakfast, we’ll set off for the Pantanal, heading to Araras Eco Lodge. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted warmly and briefed on the exciting adventures ahead. The journey to the Lodge is divided into two stages. The first part takes us along a paved road through picturesque farms and cattle ranches. Upon reaching Poconé, a small mining town and the gateway to the Northern Pantanal, we’ll transition onto the Transpantaneira Park Road at kilometer “0”. This park road, elevated above the water level, offers an excellent opportunity for a photo safari, allowing us to observe and photograph the diverse flora and fauna of the Pantanal ecosystem along the 32 kilometers of dirt road, with several stops for photos and information. Upon arrival at Araras Eco Lodge, you’ll receive a welcome drink and check into your accommodations. After settling in, enjoy dinner followed by an exhilarating night walk, immersing yourself in the nocturnal wonders of the Pantanal. (B, L, D)

 

6 :- Photo Safari and Canoeing on the Clarinho River

After breakfast, embark on a thrilling photo safari along private dirt roads leading to the Clarinho River. Upon reaching the riverbank, board a canoe and paddle down the river, navigating through the lush forest and mangroves that line its edges. This area is home to a colony of giant river otters, or “ariranhas.” With a bit of luck, you might spot a family of otters playing, swimming, and fishing. Try your hand at fishing for the elusive piranha—an exciting and fun challenge. Enjoy a bush lunch under the shade of the trees, followed by a relaxing siesta in hammocks.

Return to the Lodge for an introductory walk around its surroundings, learning about the lodge’s concepts and preservation projects. Arrive back in time for afternoon tea. Later, trek the Howler Monkey trail to the Howler Monkey Tower, the highest observation point at 25 meters, for a breathtaking view of the sunset. After dinner, join a night truck safari drive, seeking out the Pantanal’s nocturnal animals. (B, L, D)

*Note: If the Sentinela Camp is inaccessible due to weather and terrain conditions, the canoeing tour will take place on the Corixo River, and lunch will be served back at the lodge.

7 :- Horseback Riding and Trekking in the Pantanal

After breakfast, embark on a horseback ride to explore the diverse landscapes of the Pantanal, including some of its flooded plains. Riding the docile Pantaneiro horses, which have adapted over centuries to feed underwater, offers a unique perspective on this region. In the Pantanal, these horses are the Pantaneiros’ best friends, accompanying them in both work and leisure. Return to the lodge for a delightful lunch. In the afternoon, trek along the Rondon Trail towards the 13-meter-high Jabiru Stork Tower, where you can observe a Jabiru Stork nest up close. Return to Araras Eco Lodge for dinner and a restful overnight stay. (B, L, D)

 

8 :- Sunrise Walk and Departure to Cuiabá

Begin your day with another sunrise walk to witness the dawn of this incredible ecosystem. As the Pantanal awakens, soak in the serene beauty and vibrant sounds of nature. Return to the Lodge for a hearty breakfast. Depending on your flight time, you will depart for Cuiabá either at 7:00 or 12:30. (B)
