Unique with having a sitting Sultan that presides over it, the city has a remarkable history, art and tradition, it is truly the cultural heart of the country.

ITINERARY SCHEDULE
Day 1 :- Arrival Yogyakarta - Prambanan Temple
Today we explore Indonesia’s largest Hindu site, Prambanan, a complex of ornate temples with wall carvings that relate the story of the Ramayana epic. Upon arrival at New Yogyakarta International Airport, you are met by your driver and guide and transferred to this UNESCO World Heritage Site which is home to the three revered temples of Candi Shiva Mahadeva, Candi Brahma and Candi Vishnu. These magnificent shrines were erected in the 9th century when Java was ruled by the Hindu Sanjayas of Old Mataram. We also explore neighbouring shrines, including Candi Plaosan and Candi Sewu, ahead of transferring to the city to check-in to our hotel where the rest of the day is free to spend at leisure. The total tour duration is four to five hours. Overnight in Yogyakarta. Meals: Lunch and dinner are on own.
Day 2 :- Borobudur Sunrise-Candirejo
Soak up the sunrise from Phuntuk Setumbu, the Menoreh Hill as it rises over Mount Merapi, ahead of embarking on a cultural tour of Yogyakarta. Leaving early, we enjoy sunrise (weather permitting) and the view of Borobudur, the world’s largest Buddhist monument and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We then embark on a cultural tour of Candirejo village which is a prime example of a traditional Javanese community. Riding the bicycle to gain an insight into local customs and traditions, art and handicrafts, traditional health drinks and the agricultural system of intercropping. Afterwards we return to our hotel in Yogyakarta, with the rest of the afternoon free to spend at our leisure. The tour duration is about six to seven hours. Overnight in Yogyakarta. Meals: Breakfast (Lunch and dinner are on own).
Day 3 :- Yogyakarta City Tour
Get to grips with the history of Yogyakarta on this fascinating morning sightseeing tour that takes in the landmark areas. First stop is the Kraton, a prime example of traditional Javanese palace architecture and this site contains the Sultan’s Palace, the seat of the reigning Sultan of Yogyakarta. Over 25,000 people live within the greater Kraton compound of Taman Sari and this contains its own market, shops and craft industries. (Please note: The Sultan’s Palace opens every day from 8.30 am to 13.30 pm, but closes on Friday at 11 am and it is closed all day on Mondays, National and Kraton Holidays) Next, we proceed to Kota Gede, the first capital of the Mataram Kingdom which today is the hub of the city’s silver industry. On bicycle we explore this area and tour takes in one of Kota Gede’s oldest mosques and the Royal Cemetery where the remains of the first king of Mataram and his family lay. We conclude our tour at a Joglo, a traditional Javanese colonial home. The Royal Cemetery is closed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Return to your hotel then enjoy the rest of the day free at your own leisure Overnight in Yogyakarta. Meals: Lunch and dinner are on own.
Day 4 :- Departure from Yogyakarta
The morning is free to spend at leisure until we check-out. At the appropriate time, we transfer to the airport for our onwards flight. (Please note: The check-out time is usually 12 noon).

Weather Info
Here’s some information to help you in your decision:
1. The best months for to visit Yogyakarta are July, August and September. It will still be warm but it’s unlikely to rain, so a good time for sightseeing
2. On average, it is hot all year round with its tropical monsoon climate that has a distinct wet and dry period.
3. The rainiest months are January, February, March, April and November.

Meals – Indonesian food is the most popular but will find restaurants that will have options of other cuisine.
Health Requirements and Vaccinations- Complete COVID 19 Vaccination (at least 2 doses/ taken a min 14 days before ) are mandatory for all travelers 18 and above.
Tipping- Tipping is not mandatory. It is a token of appreciation to your guides and drivers so at your discretion.
