Highlights

Stay in either a luxury tented camp or a stunning cottage style jungle resort famed for their location, naturalists and attentive services; 2 morning safaris in the core zones of Mukki and Kanha (subject to availability); One Nature walk in the Bahmny nature trail in the buffer zone with a picnic breakfast; Cycling on village trails, bird watching, sundowners (non alcoholic), star gazing (optional), walks with naturalists.

The National park is open from Oct to mid June and is shut during the monsoon season from mid June to end Sep.

ITINERARY SCHEDULE

Day 1 :- Arrive in Raipur airport

Arrive in Raipur airport and transfer to Kanha in Innova Crysta, 4hrs. Check in at the resort by 3pm. Evening, sundowner at a lakeside: Explore Kanha’s periphery including the surrounding rivers and lakes led by one of our naturalists, ending with a high-tea sundowner (dependent on weather and other conditions). Dinner and overnight in lake tented suite

2 :- Get ready for safari!

5am wake up call. Get ready for a safari into the Mukki core zone (through the Mukki gate). Traverse through Kanha National Park’s wilderness in comfortable, customized jeeps accompanied by one of our naturalists for a jungle safari experience. The scenic drive from lodge to the gate in an open jeep (blankets are provided for winter drives) early in the morning is a memorable one thats likely to be a highlight as well! The Mukki zone of Kanha is renowned for its exceptional wildlife sightings. Its diverse landscape encompasses sal forests, bamboo groves, and expansive grasslands, providing an ideal habitat for a variety of species. Packed breakfast will be provided. Return by 1130am. Lunch at the resort. Afternoon cycling on village trails led by one of the naturalists. Biking trails are a fantastic way to explore the region’s Sal forests and pristine lakes.
Trek bicycles for adults and B-TWIN bicycles children are provided for guests along with safety helmets.
Stargazing: Explore the cosmos with their state-of-the-art Celestron telescope for gazing into the wonders of the night sky (only at Bagh Villas).
Dinner and overnight

3 :- Kanha zone safari

5am wake up call. Get ready for a safari into the Kanha zone (entry through the Mukki gate). Initially you will drive through Mukki zone before entering the Kanha core zone. The Kanha zone features open meadows, grasslands, and bamboo vegetation, providing excellent opportunities for wildlife sightings. One of the notable tourist attractions is Shravan Taal, a site of historical and mythological significance, believed to be where King Dashrath mistakenly killed Shravan Kumar, thinking him to be a deer. Packed breakfast will be provided. Return by 1130am. Lunch. 4pm bird watching trail. Join up with the lodge’s naturalists for expertly-guided birdwatching walks and discover a myriad of avian species. Dinner and overnight. You may try the spa at the property today (additional cost).

4 :- Bahmny nature trail

6am wake up call. At 6.30am leave by open jeep for a 20min drive to the starting point of a beautiful nature trail in the buffer zone. Explore the periphery of the national park on the Bahmny nature trail along the river with the lodge’s expert naturalists on foot, discovering the diverse flora and fauna in the region on a privately-guided walk. This riverside walk is one of the most scenic walks in the region. Picnic breakfast by the riverside. Return by 10am. Lunch. Evening: Village Visit: Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of local tribal art and culture through a village visit, offering invaluable insights into the lives of the local tribes in the area. Dinner and overnight

5 :- Depart

Breakfast. Drive to Raipur airport for your onward flight. 4hrs drive.

Note:
1. Rates for weekend safaris is higher
2. Safari Rate for Non Indian Nationals is higher
3. Safaris in core zones must be booked at least 3-4 months in advance as they get sold out very quickly specially over the weekend or long holidays.
4. At the time of booking, please advise exact dates and Nationality to enable us to quote the correct cost and to check for availability of core zone permits
5. Kisli zone is approx 40kms
6. In Kanha, there are 3 types of safaris every day.
Morning safari: 6.30am to 1130am; Afternoon safari: 3pm to 6pm; Full day safari: 6am to 6pm. Please note that on Wednesdays only morning safaris are available as the park remains closed to tourists on Wed afternoon.
7. Core zone is the central part of the tiger reserve and it shares its boundary with the buffer zone. Core zone is basically an important area where the conservation of wildlife and natural resources is strictly protected by the forest department. Buffer Zone is the area that surrounds or adjoins the core areas where nature is conserved alongside compatible human uses of the land or water.
8. The Core Zones of the park are: Kanha, Sarahi, Mukki and Kisli; The Buffer Zones of the park are: Khatia, Sijhora, Phen and Khapa
9. No night safaris are conducted in any of the core zone. Safari schedule varies seasonally and mainly dependent on sunrise and sunset timings. Its possible to conduct a night safari in the buffer zone.
10. Going off the designated track or getting off the vehicle is not allowed in the National park, except at a forest dept designated spot for breakfast/ toilet.
